Sliding Sash Windows

What are sliding sash windows?

The photos above show the style of windows that are known as sliding sash.

The "sash" is the unit in a window that opens and moves. As the name suggests the sliding sash window has an opening that slides open rather than operating by hinges.

Traditional sliding sash windows were wooden with cords that operated the sash. Modern sliding sash windows offer all the benefits of UPVC. The highly insulated and maintenance free modern sliding sash windows are dramatically different from the older wooden versions.

We use a number of manufacturers for our sliding sash windows. The most popular is Roseview Windows, the image below shows their latest range.
