Suffolk Windows and Doors

The foundations of our business were laid around 40 years ago by the owner, Daryl Collins.

Having originally trained as a "chippy", Daryl set up his own building firm. Working with a small team of multi-skilled trades people, Daryl established an excellent reputation for delivering quality work on time.

In 2010, having been frustrated with windows only being available in white, dark wood effect and light wood effect, Daryl decided to experiment with using various methods of painting UPVC. Working with paint manufacturers, they tested various processes, refining the system to create the perfect finish that could be guaranteed for 10 years.

Having created a unique colour bonding system, Colourchange UPVC was launched supplying colouring services for the trade. This created a demand from homeowners, which resulted in the formation of trade and retail elements of the business.

When Supalite, manufacturers of insulated replacement roofs for conservatories, first started developing their product, they worked exclusively with Daryl in the East of England. As an early adopter of this technology, combined with 40 years of building experience, Colourchange UPVC soon became the leading installer of lightweight conservatory roofs in the area - Suffolk Conservatory was launched as a division of Colourchange UPVC, along with Suffolk Windows and Doors.

As a result of the Covid19 outbreak the country went into lockdown in 2020. With people working from home we envisaged a greater demand for home offices. Colourchange were in a perfect position to prepare for this potential growth area. 40 years of building experience, trained carpenters, supply chains for insulated roofs, windows and doors, as well as teams that build conservatories, were all in place - Office Gardens Rooms was launched. Initially we thought we would be supplying high numbers of set sized buildings. In reality people are buying bespoke products that others can't / don't supply.
